PARTICIPATORY MOBILE BIOSENSING.
A TOOL FOR URBAN DESIGNERS.
UrBio International Seminar
September 7, 2023
Auditório do Centro de Informação Urbana de Lisboa
Picoas Plaza, Rua Viriato 13E
SUMMARY
This international seminar gathers urban scholars from Portugal, Brazil, Poland and the United Kingdom to discuss the application of biosensing techniques in participatory urban planning and design.
Drawing on research conducted by the project UrBio - Making Urban Planning and Design Smarter with Participatory Mobile Biosensing, we tackle the main questions regarding the use of biosensors in urban research and design:
- How can biosensors improve our understanding of the emotions that the city elicits?
- To what extent are urban dwellers capable of using their own biodata to communicate the urban experience?
- Can biosensing enhance participatory methods in urban research and design?
- What does a city that is designed by and for our emotions look like?
